North Broad Street Senior Center

the name may imply you must consider yourself a senior citizen to attend
the North Broad Street Senior Center, nothing could be further from the
truth. Services,
programs and activities are designed for people over 50 years of age so
any images of a quiet dull place should be forgotten. The
following is a list of services, programs and activities that may
interest you: Center
Counselor The
Center Counselor is a social worker who will provide assistance in the

Application Resource

Provides group sessions
where resources information on management is provided by Housing
Assistance

Assistance with
relocation issues Group
Counseling Group
Counseling sessions are held to provide a forum for information and
discussion about issues that affect adults over 50, such as:

Counseling Individual
counseling provides a resource for:

Referrals to agencies,
offices, businesses and individuals who may assist with a particular
issue. Legal
Services An
appointment can be scheduled with our in house attorney for wills,
powers of attorney etc. at

and Programs The
Shared Ride Program provides transportation services for consumers at
least 65 years of age or older. While most transportation is used to the center, arrangements
can be made to use the Shared Ride Program for doctors visits etc. Ambulatory
and non-ambulatory consumers are welcome to use the Shared Ride after
completion of an application. Congregate
Meal Program The
Congregate Meal Program is a meal provided in a group setting for
consumers who attend the center. The
Congregate Meal (a box lunch) may also be served at alternate locations
such as when group activities are away from the center.
A small donation from consumers over sixty is expected to help
defray the cost of the meal. Consumers
under 60 must pay full price for the meal. Educational
Programs Educational
Programs are meant to enhance the knowledge of consumers.

are an essential part of North Broad Street Senior Center Volunteer
Services include a wide range of opportunities offered by North Broad
Street Senior Center. Many
consumers who attend the center provide volunteer services necessary for
the center to operate. Other
consumers who attend the center volunteer elsewhere as part of our
community service effort. Volunteers
from the community are always welcomed at North Broad Street Senior
Center. Community
volunteers bring diverse skills, ability and knowledge that are an
integral part of the center. Below
is a partial list of consumer and community volunteers who provide a
tremendous amount of support to the center.
